Medical Welfare Gives the Dignity Back to the People

How important is medical welfare these days when calamities are happening left and right? It is very important. Countries have risen despite the worst event that happened to them because of this. It will not only help you go through the darkest times of your life but it will also enable you to help others. It is important to always keep your wits around you especially when something is happening. This may be the only way by which you will be able to survive. If you look at it, calamities bring about the best and the worst in people. And people are once again taking notice how important medical welfare is.
Medical welfare is the integration of medicine and social welfare. There is actually a demand for people who can promote this. Thus, medical schools and other medical institutions have thought of ways to promote the teaching of it. Students that are in the medical field are taught medical skills and a deeper respect for humanity.
So you see, medicine is important, the skill is important but it is more so if a person is treated right. Medicine is more than just saving lives. It is giving you back your life and your dignity as a person.
Thus anything that is related to the condition of a person is medical welfare. There are already a lot of health and social care that are being given to women and children all over the world. World Health Organization and the United Nations are just two of the biggest organizations that promote it globally.

Medical Matters is Not Just the Practice of Medicine

There is no doubt about it. Medicine is important. That is why the training and the education that come with it are extremely hard. People who want to be in the field should think twice before embarking on this journey as a medical practitioner. However, as much as medicine and all those who practice it is important. Medical recording keeping is also important. Without a reliable system behind every doctor or any healthcare professional, you won't have anything. It is a dangerous world out there that is why accurate information and medical records are important for all of these doctors to do their job right.
Someday soon all the medical records of all the patients can be accessed globally. Meaning, your doctor can be on vacation and he can access your records when he needs to or you can be the one that is on vacation and the doctor needs to coordinate with your doctor to be able to give you appropriate health advice.. Although I am sure that there are going to be a lot of people who will be against this. They are afraid of the unknown and they have all these security and privacy issues. It is definitely strange for a doctor not to be at your side but he continuously checks what is happening. Actually the importance of medicine and all medical matters are beyond compare. Due to efficiency of some people who do the record keeping of hospital records of patients, hospital procedures and others, breakthroughs and efficient service have improved considerably. That is why medicine and information technology work hand in hand to deliver excellent and prompt service.

Medical Matters Can Only Be Black Or White

Moms are the most paranoid people on earth. Their kids get a cold and they send them to the emergency room of the hospital demanding to be paid attention to. Every little thing tends to be a life or death situation. Every little thing that their child experiences, every little cut, every little bruise is a life or death situation. There are no gray areas, to the moms it can only be black or white, either the child is hurt or not.
That is the reason why pediatricians are the most patient people on earth. They do not just have to be patient to the child but to the respective moms too. They need to placate the mom more than the child. Children recover as soon as the wound stops bleeding. The moms need to be reassured every ten seconds that the child is safe.
It is no wonder why not all pediatricians give out their private cellphone numbers. Although, there are still some doctors who give out their private lines to the moms for emergency purposes but not all the time. They know that moms are driven to protect their offspring so every little cough in the wee hours of the morning will drive them to send a text message to the pediatrician asking for advice.
Actually, medical advise given during the wee hours of the morning via cellular phone is not wise, especially if it is a serious condition. Doctors need the medical history of the patient before administering any type of medicine. Patients (kids and adults alike) have allergies and one wrong medical advice can be life threatening. Thus, it is not only dangerous to the patient but to the doctor as well. Their license can be revoked because of medical malpractice. So to moms everything is about medical matters.

Medical Matters Include Medical Record Keeping

Nobody has to tell us that keeping the records straight and up-to-date matters. It is as important as the other field of medical matters. You do not have to be in the medical field to know that. But in medicine, it is crucial that every single record is in order and nothing is amiss. The effects are going to be devastating if the records are not up to date. This is probably the reason why the demands for medical transcriptionists are increasing day by day. The records have to be flawless and on time.
Doctors depend on the medical records of each patient to be able to administer the correct practice. Some of the medical malpractices that have been happening are the result of incomplete medical records or wrong filing of records and sometimes even wrong note taking of a patient's diagnosis. There are so many things that could go wrong with record keeping. In medicine, when that happens, it becomes disastrous.
There are different kinds of software related to medical record-keeping that hospitals and other health care establishments can avail of. It will make their record keeping easier to manage. Record keepers will have an easier job looking for records of patients. Doctors can easily check if the records are right. They will be able to check it using their PDAs or any high tech phones. Patients calling them up in the middle of the night asking for prescription can be accommodated because doctors can easily access their records without leaving their homes or even their beds. This is what it can bring, total convenience for both the doctor and the patients.

Oil and Gas Middle East interview with Dr Phil Sharples

What makes up a typical day for a medic working in the oil and gas industry - on an offshore oil and gas rig, for example?
In terms of day-to-day provision, there are obviously different challenges posed by different environments. Working onshore our medics or medical teams are often involved with providing complete medical services for an oil and gas installation including healthcare for local communities, training or assisting with the development of healthcare infrastructure. This is clearly different from the challenges facing a medic on a seismic vessel, who are responsible for the medical care of a crew working more than a day away from any other backup or any form of mainstream medical support.
Is there a high demand for medics to work within the oil and gas industry?
There is a clear requirement for high quality services both for short term and long term projects and activities in remote or hazardous environments. The oil and gas industry sets, expects and achieves high standards in terms of health and safety and employee welfare. There is consequently considerable demand for specialist personnel who cannot just satisfy essential medical requirements but also use their expertise and experience to enhance the whole experience.
Does Frontier Medical have difficulty in finding new members of staff?
We recruit globally to reflect our global client base. We have personnel ranging from ambulance medics to neuro-surgeons recruited from more than 70 countries around the world including Yemen, Egypt, the Lebanon and many other countries in the Middle East. Our business language is English but many of our people are multilingual.
Is enough being done to encourage new recruits?
We believe we are actively recruiting through our internet and advertising, and also running an introductory scheme that sees many of our recruits coming forward on the recommendation of their colleagues. In many countries we are helping to develop local skills and services, recruiting locally and training local healthcare providers, raising the level of health care in the vicinity of where we work.
Is there specialised training involved for medics working under severe conditions, treating at times severely injured patients?
All our medical professionals will have undertaken internationally approved courses in emergency medicine. We also ensure skills are maintained and invigorated, offering medics additional clinical attachments. We can also provide specialist training to deal with particularly harsh or severe environments - such as extreme cold or desert.
Does Frontier Medical work or have experience of working in the Middle East?
Frontier Medical has supported organisations working throughout the Middle East including Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Yemen, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco for example.
One onshore project was in support of an organisation investing in a new installation. Our involvement included assessing the medical needs for the operation through an initial health audit, working with the client to build and equip a clinic and provide a full range of health services for their workforce.
We are regularly offshore in the Middle East dealing with the full range of health care issues but also occasionally the unexpected, such as the sea snake which catapulted on to the deck during recovery of the cables!
Any closing comments?
Recent research has highlighted that the average age of an offshore worker is now over 50, with most either older than 50, or younger than 26. In these circumstances, we now ensure health awareness training covers how to recognise the signs of a heart attack and our medics are also trained to administer new treatments that will dissolve a blood clot and limit the potential damage should a heart attack occur.
